Between well-meaning relatives asking questions and the constant stream of cozy couples on social media, it’s easy to feel like you’re missing out. But being single during the holidays doesn’t have to be a downer.

1. Acknowledge Your Feelings of Loneliness, Pressure, or Hope

Tool: Prepare a response: Having a go-to answer can ease the tension. For example, “I’m taking time to focus on myself right now” or “I’ll let you know when my Hallmark moment happens!” A little humor can diffuse awkward conversations while keeping things light.
